Sadaf Halai has published poetry in Granta, Ploughshares, Salmagundi, Vallum, The Aleph Review, Journal of Postcolonial Writing and the anthologies Voices and Visions (Oxford University Press) and Poetry in English from Pakistan (Alhamra Publishing, 2024). She has poetry forthcoming in Plume. Her essays and short stories have appeared in Hybrid (2024) and The Life’s Too Short Literary Review, among others.
Sadaf received a Master’s degree in Creative Writing from Boston University. She has been the recipient of the Max and Victoria Dreyfuss Writers’ Room of Boston Fellowship and twice won the Academy of American Poets University & College Prize. She was also a finalist for the Glimmer Train Short Story Award. She won the Jurors’ Prize for a writing competition organized by Goethe-Institut and the Oxford University Press.
Sadaf has lived in Nigeria, Canada and the U.S. She teaches English Literature and Creative Writing to Undergraduate students in Karachi, Pakistan, and is working on a manuscript of poems.
